  1. I would only allow two hours, and wouldn’t tenderize.
6-8 minutes per side turning only the once, on medium high.
It will depend on the thickness they are and how well cooked you like them
My timing would be for med-rare.

  2. You should not marinate them at all. It’s a waste of money to marinate. The marinate is not obsorbed by the meat. You need to review where you are buying the meat and, if you are in America how it is graded. You need to look for meat graded Choice. Forget the package meats in the grocery store. Go to the meat department and have the butcher help you to choose the steak. Now we will try to save your 4 T-Bones. First, do not overcook them, Overcooking makes the meat dry and tough. Well done is not good for steaks. First you can add flavor buy coating each side of the steak with a little salt, some coarse ground pepper, and something like Lawry’s seasoning powder. Grill the steaks. 5 minutes on one side, turn them over and 5 minutes on the other side. DO NOT turn the steaks over and over. This is going to take some experimenting on your part. This easy and you’ll have some great tasting steaks. Good luck!

  3. You only marinate meat that is tough……….T-Bone steak is not tough….Ribeye is a flavorful cut of meat and will be tough if over cooked….

I would just salt & pepper the T-Bone and grill……..it depends on how you like your steak…and the thickness..about 7 minutes on the first side and 3 minutes on the other side…that is for medium…adjust according to how you like your steak…………

    Happy cooking……………

  5. Rib Eye steaks should never be tough. Marinating a steak won’t help over cooking. For an easy way to determine how long to cook a steak you can do the following:

    (1) Take your left hand and hold it out loosely. The palm should be facing up.

Now, using only your left hand

    (2) Take your pointer finger, and touch your thumb; loosely. Feel the "pad" or "muscle area" on your thumb (with your right hand). This is what a rare steak feels like.

    (3) Take your index finger, and touch your thumb; loosely. Feel the "pad" or "muscle area" on your thumb. This is what a medium rare steak feels like.

    (4) Take your index finger, and touch your thumb; loosely. Feel the "pad" or "muscle area" on your thumb. This is what a medium rare steak feels like.

    (5) Take your ring finger, and touch your thumb; loosely. Feel the "pad" or "muscle area" on your thumb. This is what a medium steak feels like.

    (6) Take your pinky finger, and touch your thumb; loosely. Feel the "pad" or "muscle area" on your thumb. This is what a well done steak feels like.

Steaks take time to learn how to prepare correctly. Have patience.

if you must marinate them; I’d suggest 3-4 hours (not overnight). Acid based marinades will destroy the fat (which tenderizes the meat during cooking) over long periods of time.
